1. "Do not forget the agenda (opposition's goals), and do not follow his (Dr Mahathir's) agenda. Follow the people's agenda," said Anwar. "Do not follow the corrupt crony system and tyranny of the past. That is my message," he added.
2. Now, let us all recap the pillars of the opposition, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, a close confidante turn formidable foe of Tun Mahathir recent comments. And it seems, Anwar recently wrote a letter warning PKR against working with Dr Mahathir in the latter's bid to oust Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
3. In the letter, Anwar described how the "Mahathir-Kit Siang Declaration" was flawed and inconsistent with their reform agenda.
4. Tun, is alas halted in his aspiration to oust UMNO, by none other than his once upon a time protégé.
5. But, let's poke some fun here, no pun intended.. Tun M is brilliant enough to make full use of DAP and PKR. The two parties which were the strongest critics, are now below his feet and pretty much ‘lackies’ for Tun.
6. The eroded coalition, awaiting their impending doom, has got to now bow before the man they hated so much.. Oh well, at least PAS is smart enough not to be part of their folly.
7. This article is not on Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, nor it is on the flawed declaration of Mahathir-Kit Siang. But, this is ‘a pen’ on Tun.
8. Just as much as he loved in the past to pen letters to first Prime Minister, Almarhum YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman, let us just consider this as a letter to Tun too...
9. Admittedly, he had contributed tremendously to Malaysia.. credit given where credit is due. He is no bigot, his sacrifices to the Nation remains in the heart of all UMNO men. The respect is still given. But, like a dimming light, that respect will soon fade.
10. Unfortunately enough, Tun is his fight for power to initially oust the PM, and now UMNO is not surprising. He is embittered really that he no longer has the say in the party.
11. It is rather sad, a man who helmed the party for 22 years, is now resorting to fight alongside the men and women he heavily criticizes; DAP a party he despised, and DSAI, the man he sacked.
12. It must be truly demeaning for him. He once stood tall with his principles, and now, everything has/have changed.
13. What are his fears? What has gotten him to despise UMNO so much to see its end? Or is it pure greed?
14. We should be wary of the greedy man who wants to grab everything in this country to satisfy his lust for power...
15. He too must be reminiscing the past now. Just as how he is snubbed now, he would most certainly recollect how he snubbed Almarhum Tunku and Tun Hussein Onn.
16. And yet today, no one bat's an eye of what he did in the past, but purely looks into his antics of openly condemning the PM..
17. Tun's criticism against the leadership, UMNO, the alliance with leaders of the opposition, is unethical and against the norms of Malay traditions in the complexity of political game.
18. In terms of political criticism, there is always an underlining hidden personal agenda justified or otherwise. This agenda, is best, for all too deeply think and ponder..
19. Tun has gone against his own principles and had gone above board to criticize, and none is spared.
20. Truthfully, it seems that Tun fears the harsh reality, the ugly truth that the future for him is fraught..
21. Facial scars of mortification and opprobrium are all too apparent. There is no single way to hide that the stress has taken a toll on him.
22. Tun will have to reflect. If he wants to see the end of UMNO by working hand in hand with the leaders of the other block, he will face the impending doom of endless critics, degradation and odium.
23. Tun ought to comprehend, there is still the ounce of respect for him albeit his dark history in treating the past Premiers, Deputy Prime Ministers, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and the recent fiascos.
24. But, Tun, ought to recollect and introspect of his ghosts of pasts and future and the legacy he wants all Malaysian to remember and remain embedded immaculately in their hearts.
